The Belton Planning Commission will consider a proposal by NorthPoint Development to redevelop the former Southview Golf Course into a 148-acre flex industrial campus in Belton, Missouri.
At full buildout, the Southview Commerce Center will include five buildings totaling more than 2 million square feet of light manufacturing, warehouse and distribution space and create an estimated 1,400 jobs with a potential annual wage impact of $58 million.
“NorthPoint has an exceptional track record of developing quality business parks in Kansas City and throughout the country,” said Belton City Manager Alexa Barton, in a written statement.
The former Southview Golf Course has been vacant for more than a decade. The Belton Planning Commission will consider NorthPoint’s proposed $105.5 million project in mid-May with full City Council consideration expected in June and ground-breaking later this year.
Located just east of Interstate-49 between 155th Street and 162nd Street, the light industrial park at 16001 S. Outer Road is master planned for five buildings ranging from 235,000 to 622,000 square feet.
