REjournals is announcing the first names in what promises to be a blockbuster lineup for its 18th annual Commercial Real Estate Forecast Conference being held on January 9, 2020 in the West Tower Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Andy Gloor of Sterling Bay and Drew Nieman of Riverside Investment & Development are headlining the newly announced “The Experts’ View” interview series—to be moderated by another CRE expert, JLL’s Meredith O’Connor.
The discussion looks to be an insightful and entertaining perspective on the past, present and future of Chicago’s downtown office market.
As attendees have grown to expect, REjournals will have a dynamic and versatile series of panels and speakers, and plenty of opportunity for networking and interacting with sponsors, at the annual event that moves to the West Tower of the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Conference organizers have announced three general session panels and six different breakout sessions where more than 55 CRE professionals will offer their take on what to expect in commercial real estate in 2020.
The three general session panels are:
The Power & The Glory—This panel will feature developers, city representatives, attorneys and financial sources who will add their perspectives about what is necessary for ambitious developments to get off the ground and be successful. They’ll discuss how big ideas need cooperation and buy-in, what is needed to give to get and how the Chicago way can be improved for the benefit of everyone.
State of the Market—Executives from some of the largest and most prominent CRE companies take an in-depth look at the Chicago marketplace, covering the downtown and suburban markets and focusing on all property sectors. They’ll give a brief recap of the dominant storylines from 2019 while looking ahead at what to expect in 2020 and beyond.
Chicago: My Kind of Town or Second City?—This panel will feature a mix of big name real estate executives—national development firms, investors, REITS and capital markets teams from brokerage firms, etc.–talking about Chicago’s place on the national/global commercial real estate and investment stage. How does the Chicago metropolitan area stack up against other U.S. cities? What are the greatest assets and liabilities of the Chicago marketplace?
As always, upon the conclusion of the general session panels there will be 45 minutes for six different breakout sessions covering various specialty areas in commercial real estate: suburban and downtown office, industrial, retail, multifamily, investment, retail and property management.
