Interra Realty, a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment services firm, today announced it has hired Douglas Woodworth as director of marketing and Megan O’Brien as office manager and social media director. Both will help Interra build on significant growth in recent years, with $445 million in transactions executed in 2021, up from $270 million in 2020 and $200 million in 2019.
An experienced digital and social marketer, Woodworth has almost 10 years of experience in multifamily real estate. At Interra, he will direct the firm’s public relations, social media and digital marketing efforts, working closely with the firm’s team of top-producing brokers to develop collateral for new listings. He also will help maintain brand voice and standards for the company, whose focus on client service and broker development has helped establish Interra as Chicago’s No. 1 middle-market multifamily brokerage, handling almost 1 in 5 sales of apartment buildings up to 100 units, per CoStar.
Before joining Interra, Woodworth worked as digital marketing manager at Reside Living, a wholly owned subsidiary of Newcastle Limited whose management portfolio includes 3,000 apartments across Chicago. At Reside, Woodworth helped to design and launch more than 30 property websites; created digital and print materials for the retail leasing team; and maintained content across a variety of platforms, including websites, Internet Listing Services and lobby touchscreens. He also helped define the company’s digital strategy to generate quality leads and ensure proper follow-through with leasing teams. Woodworth holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.
As office manager and social media director, O’Brien will oversee day-to-day office operations, offering support to Interra’s growing team of brokers while helping the firm maximize its use of digital marketing. Prior to joining Interra, she held sales and marketing positions in retail, including a mobile clothing boutique. A graduate of St. Xavier University in Chicago, O’Brien has a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in internet and social media marketing and minor in hospitality management.
