Opus announced that construction has started on Arcadia, the 115,000-square-foot Class-A office building the company is developing at 5100 Eden Ave. in Edina, Minnesota. The building will serve as the location of Opus’ new headquarters.
A ceremonial groundbreaking event with Edina Mayor James (Jim) Hovland and representatives from Opus; ESG Architecture & Design, the architect of record; and CBRE, the leasing broker, took place on September 22.
“We are incredibly excited to begin construction on what will be a beautifully designed, modern, and fully amenitized office development in the heart of Edina,” said Nick Murnane, vice president and general manager of real estate development with Opus. “Once complete, not only will Arcadia mark the next chapter in Opus’ legacy, but it will further energize a pocket of Edina that is well positioned for redevelopment.”
Arcadia is located in Edina’s Grandview District on the site of the former Eden 100 building. The development will include a six-story, Class A, multi-tenant office building with a glass façade and a number of desirable amenities, including a large open lobby with a fireplace, gathering spaces, conference rooms and a large employee training room; a private tenant clubroom; a workout facility with locker rooms and showers; and a large outdoor terrace with fire pits, gathering spaces, landscaping and an outdoor grilling station. Heavily landscaped grounds will create a welcome and pleasing aesthetic, and eight-foot-wide sidewalks will enhance safety and walkability.
“Opus has a long history in Edina, with many of their early projects being completed here, and they are wonderful corporate citizens. I am so happy they’re moving their headquarters here. Their beautiful building will be a welcome sight in our community for many, many years to come,” said Jim Hovland, mayor of Edina.
Opus is the developer and design-builder and will occupy Arcadia’s top floor, taking approximately 28,000 square feet. Joe Conzemius, Larissa Bodine, Anne Rinde and Elle Westphal with CBRE are marketing the remaining space for lease.
