Clune Construction and J2H Partners have begun construction on a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art expansion of the Computing Technology Industry Association’s (CompTIA) worldwide headquarters. Clune is providing general contracting services for the project, which was designed by Perkins and Will. J2H is serving as the project manager, and Hamilton Partners is the broker.
CompTIA is the world’s leading tech association, serving as an advocate for tech professionals, and provides education, training, certifications and market research. The project is an expansion of their headquarters’ existing space, located at 3500 Lacey Road, in Downers Grove, Illinois. It will substantially increase CompTIA’s communications capabilities as well as to create greater programming for the tech industry.
“It’s a tremendous opportunity to be involved with this extremely important project that demonstrates CompTIA’s dedication to the technology sector,” said Jerry Reich, principal at J2H. “I’m very honored to be working with such a diverse and talented team of professionals, and even more so to be entrusted to lead such a critical project for CompTIA as they look forward to the center’s benefits for their employees and clients.”
The new space will accommodate two fully equipped studios for CompTIA associates to record high-quality television interviews and podcasts. The studios will serve as primary vehicles to communicate the latest news about technology to a greater audience. CompTIA’s expansion will also include an educational center for classroom instruction and online learning programs.
“With the tech industry continuing to grow at a rapid pace, Clune is excited to be heading up the construction on this important expansion,” said Chris Redpath, Clune’s managing director and project executive. “The end result will be a cutting-edge facility that will significantly advance CompTIA’s abilities to be the primary advocate for the tech industry and its workforce for years to come.”
Construction of CompTIA’s headquarters expansion has a target completion date of October 2019.
