The Industrial Summits held each year by Chicago Industrial Properties always attract a crowd. And this year’s event — the 12th annual, held at the Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel on April 7 — was no exception.

This isn’t a surprise: The conference featured the biggest industrial names in the industry, pros such as John Coleman, executive vice president of Transwestern; John Morris, executive managing director and head of industrial for the Americas for Cushman & Wakefield; Elise Couston, senior managing director with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank; and Alissa Adler, principle with Podolksy|Circle CORFAC International.

The state of the market panel was a big draw. Crowds flocked to hear panelists (from left to right) John Morris, Cushman & Wakefield; Neal Driscoll, Liberty Property Trust; Elise Couston, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank; Jim McShane, Conor Commercial; Steve Groetsema, Bridge Development; and Andy Roach, DCT Industrial. John Coleman with Transwestern moderated the panel.

The Investing in Industrial Real Estate panel was another highlight of the event. Moderated by Alissa Adler with Podolsky|Circle CORFAC International, the panel featured Mark Goode, Venture One Real Estate; Jerry Rotunno, Associated Bank; Jim Clewlow, CenterPoint Properties; and Michael Micka, Holladay Properties.

The summit, of course, provided plenty of networking opportunities, too. Industrial pros took advantage of this, meeting with their fellow sector specialists after the panels wrapped.
