Chicago Industrial Properties saw more than 200 industry professionals attend its 12th Annual Transportation and Logistics Conference Oct. 16 at the Chicago Marriott in Oak Brook.
Guests enjoyed breakfast and networking before Scott Marshall, executive managing director of industrial services at CBRE, and Jim Schultz, director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, kick-started the event at 8 a.m. with a one-on-one keynote presentation on today’s Chicago transportation and logistics market.

Following the keynote, the State of the Market panel of speakers discussed current distribution, technology, and construction trends in the Tri-State industrial Market. John Moris with Cushman & Wakefield moderated the five-person table consisting of: Don Schoenheider, Hillwood Properties; Brian Quigley, Dermody Properties; Dan Fogarty, Becknell Industrial; James Martell, Ridge Development Company; and Ryan O’Leary, Duke Realty.
Cameron Trefry of Ware Malcomb moderated the next panel, Development & Construction Trends, which focused on trends in build-to-suits, speculative, and intermodal facilities. Speakers included: Anthony Oss, Larson-Danielson Construction Co., Inc.; C. Shane Van Sickle, Landmark Real Estate Group LLC; Steve Golumbeck, Peak Construction; Brian Lison, Liston & Tsantilis; and Scott Olthoff, Core Construction.
The final panel, Investment Strategies, was moderated by Georgia Kokkinias with Ellas Commercial Real Estate. She led the discussion on ROI and investing in translogistics real estate with speakers: Matthew Stauber, Colliers Chicago; Noel Liston, Darwin Realty and Development; John Abuja, Marcus & Millichap; and Michael Brennan, Brennan Investment Group.
