Construction has started on a new, mixed-use development in Northwest Wichita, Kansas, featuring shopping and dining retailers. NewMarket North, being developed by Slawson Companies, will be anchored by an existing Super Target.
The developer plans for office, hotel or apartment units on the second level, above the retail spaces. One notable feature at NewMarket North will be two restaurants surrounding an outdoor terrace that will border a wetland landscape feature.
At 840,000 square feet, NewMarket Square features top retail shops and dining. The North expansion is expected to stretch 120,000 square feet, which will include a 21,000-square-foot building housing anĀ Orange Theory Fitness, opening at year-end.
Currently existing NewMarket Square retailers include Bed Bath & Beyond, Old Navy, Marshall’s, Best Buy, Michael’s, and Ulta in addition to other popularĀ stores and restaurants. The area also boasts other major retailers and entertainment facilities including a the renowned Sedgwick County Zoo, Warren Theaters and IMAX, Dillons (Kroger) grocery store, Lowe’s, Academy Sports, Sam’s Club and Menards.
