The newly-developed 2.3-acre lot at 700 Lake Cook Road in Deerfield, Illinois, has a new 9,000-square-foot tenant. Portillo’s opened its doors Nov. 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Dick Portillo and Deerfield Mayor, Harriet Rosenthal.
Novak Construction demolished an existing building to make room for the new site utilities, curbs, asphalt paving and all site improvements. This Portillo’s restaurant marks the chain’s second of its 46 restaurants to have a 1970s theme, complete with a flowered “peace” bus on display.
The precast structure includes full brick exterior, a patio, and exterior architectural steel elements. After bringing the restaurant to the North Shore, the next Portillo’s opening will be in Harwood Heights, according to Novak’s Restaurant Division VP and Portillo’s Project Director, Dan Moriarity.
In addition to Moriarity, Novak Construction was represented by Owner, John Novak; CFO, Michael Kanzler; and project team members, Steve Gourley, Michael Bathe, Maddie Novak and Angela Campisi.
