Five Guys Burger and Fries opened its 3,000-square-foot location today in Belton, Missouri’s, Cedar Tree Shopping Center on the northwest corner of I-49 and Highway 58. The restaurant will add milkshakes to its offerings and expects to draw fans from 15 to 20 miles away.
“Belton has been on our radar for a long time,” said Randy Brock, owner of Kansas City Five Guys Burgers. “We see this location as the Main & Main of the Belton/Raymore area. It has good parking, visibility from and easy access to the highway and is in a renovated center. The location ticked nearly all the boxes for us and we’re really excited to have it come to fruition.”
Cedar Tree Shopping Center underwent a nearly $13 million renovation in 2017. Five Guys’ opening follows the arrival of Barrel House Liquors which opened mid-December at this high-visibility, high-traffic center in this rapidly growing market.
Brock said the restaurant will have an opening staff of about 40 to serve what he refers to as Five Guys nearly “cult following” of fans he anticipates will come from Harrisonville, Grandview, Raymore, Peculiar as well as Belton.
Five Guys Belton location will be the 11th in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The family-owned operation was started in the Washington, D.C., area by Jerry Morrell and is still run by his five sons, the original “five guys.” Brock, with his father-in-law, became a franchisee a dozen years ago.
