Illinois Real Estate Journal is announcing a call for entries for its annual Women In Real Estate Awards Program to be held on Sept. 27 at the University Club of Chicago. This is the fifth year the Illinois Real Estate Journal has hosted the award program in conjunction with Real Estate Communications Group and Commercial Real Estate Executive Women—CREW Chicago. Joining the list of organizations supporting this event is the group Industrial Women In Real Estate—IWIRE.
Awards will be given in five categories:
- The Bright Horizon Award: presented to a woman who in five years or less, through her professional work and accomplishments and charitable involvement has demonstrated that she will be one of the industry’s leaders in the years to come.
- The Community Service Award: given to the woman who in addition to her career in real estate shows compassion for her community through her involvement and support for programs and organizations that benefit those less fortunate.
- The Crystal Apple Award: given to the woman who serves as a mentor to other women, teaching them and supporting their growth in the industry.
- The Career Achievement Award: given to the woman who over the course of her career has contributed greatly to the commercial real estate industry, achieving great things for her clients and serving as a role model for her peers.
- The Impact Awards: given to as many as three women who have had a significant impact on the commercial real estate industry because of the work they have completed/been involved in during 2011 and 2012. This impact can be the result of virtually any line of work in commercial real estate, from brokerage and development to legal and design.

A distinguished panel of judges will evaluate the nominations and select the winners. Those winners will be announced at the Women In Commercial Real Estate Awards Luncheon on Sept. 27, 2012.
