Advocate Advisors and Proten Realty announce merger

Advocate Commercial Real Estate Advisors and ProTen Realty Group announced the merger of their two firms. The firm will continue under the Advocate name. Renee Betzelos, Kurt Walsh, and Art Clamage co-founders of ProTen, will become co-managing principal, executive vice president and senior managing director, respectively, of Advocate.

“When reviewing our competitors whom I respected, it was and is critical that our cultures and values aligned, and we have the same goals for the future. ProTen satisfied that.” Said Craig Braham, founder and CEO of Advocate.

This combination brings together two of the Midwest’s most active commercial real estate firms focused solely on representing the interests of tenants. It expands the service offerings, resources and reach of the group with an eye toward continued growth. With offices in both Chicago and Detroit markets, the firm has seasoned professionals providing representation services to clients on a national basis.

“We’ve always had great respect for Craig and his group as a solid competitor,” Betzelos said. “We anticipate a great synergy as we join forces to continue growing a best-in-class organization to service both existing and new clients.”
