Global real estate consultant and DePaul University alumnus Rick Sinkuler has been selected to become the next Douglas and Cynthia Crocker endowed director of the Real Estate Center at DePaul, effective June 1. He will succeed current director Charlie Wurtzebach, who is retiring at the end of the academic year.
Part of the Department of Finance & Real Estate at the Driehaus College of Business, the Real Estate Center provides programs and services that support graduate and undergraduate students studying real estate, and hosts high-profile professional and research conferences of interest to the real estate industry. In addition to his staff role as center director, Sinkuler will teach as an adjunct professor in DePaul’s real estate program.
Sinkuler was a senior consulting partner at EY for more than 28 years, serving its largest and most complex clients. Most recently he served as EY’s US central markets leader for the Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction practice, where he was the global client service partner for a Fortune 350 professional services firm with $16 billion in annual revenues and operations in more than 80 countries. Previously, he co-led EY’s Japan Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction practice headquartered in Tokyo and before that served as EY’s global markets leader for the Real Estate, Hospitality & Construction practice.
He has been a frequent guest lecturer and keynote presenter on current and emerging global real estate trends; has been interviewed by CNBC, Real Estate Forum Magazine, America’s Commercial Real Estate Radio Show, GlobeSt, and other prominent industry media; and has produced many leading industry publications for EY.
Sinkuler earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Master of Science in Accountancy degrees from DePaul, and also is licensed as a real estate managing broker and certified public accountant.
