Andy Lane named leader of CannonDesign’s Chicago health practice

Andy Lane has joined CannonDesign as the health practice leader in the firm’s Chicago office. A creative architect with experience in all facets of healthcare design, Lane will focus on growing the firm’s Chicago health practice by developing client partnerships, leading multidisciplinary project teams and using his experience to help organizations deliver results that position them for success.

Lane joins CannonDesign from CallisonRTKL where he helped lead the firm’s Chicago healthcare group. Throughout his career, he has developed a sophisticated understanding of both designing for health and the business of health, giving him a rare understanding of the challenges healthcare organizations face.

“The healthcare industry is in a constant state of transformation, and Andy has continually proven his ability to help clients stay ahead,” said Abbie Clary, co-director of CannonDesign’s health practice. “We’re looking forward to his leadership as he helps organizations throughout Chicago and across the Midwest leverage design thinking to gain a competitive advantage and deliver new levels of excellence.”

With expertise across the full spectrum of building typologies, Lane will lead the 65-person Chicago health practice. His passion, as is evident by his Six Sigma Green Belt, is helping clients improve processes and performance, as well as pushing them to consider ways to break from traditional conventions.

“The healthcare industry is hungry for new approaches to solving the challenges they face,” said Lane. “What really caught my attention about CannonDesign is the firm’s ability to not only talk about innovative ideas, but make them very real. I’m excited to leverage the firm’s comprehensive services and talent to help healthcare organizations navigate disruptive market forces to create places that thrive.”
