Ohio Gov. John Kasich has appointed Richard Kruse of Gryphon USA, Ltd. to the Ohio State Auctioneers Commission to complete the unexpired term of former chairman David Schnaidt.

“I want to thank the governor for the opportunity to be of service,” said Kruse in a written statement. “It is said that as goes Ohio, so goes the nation. I am honored to work with the Ohio auction community to continue the tradition of Ohio auctioneers and our state program being looked up to across the country.”

Kruse began his auction career in Virginia in 1997. During the past 16 years, he has conducted real estate and equipment sales across the country. In 1999 he accepted a position with Bid4Assets.com, one of the first online-only commercial auction venues in existence. He left that position in 2001 to head up the FFE & Auction Division of SB Capital Group, a top five national retail liquidation firm.

In August of 2003, Kruse, in partnership with his wife Melissa, opened Gryphon Asset Advisors, the predecessor to Gryphon USA., Ltd.  Today Gryphon is one of the most widely recognized distressed asset management and liquidation firms in Ohio.
