Kansas City’s Block Real Estate Services is one of 16 companies in 2012 that joined forces to donate more than 2 million meals to Harvesters Community Food Network. This is the first time the companies have collaborated with the goal of increasing donations to Harvesters.

Participating companies are members of the Corporate Volunteer Council, a group made up of volunteer and foundation leaders from companies across the Kansas City metropolitan area.

“Healthy food builds strong families, helps children arrive in the classroom ready to learn and makes it possible for seniors to maintain their health and their independence,” said Karen Haren, president and chief executive officer of Harvesters—The Community Food Network. “Food is the key to a healthy community, and it takes everyone working together to ensure no one misses a meal.”
