Colliers International | Chicago announced that Bob Westover has joined the company as senior vice president – central market leader in state and government incentives. In addition to expanding the department, Westover will work with Colliers’ clients in the central region to negotiate and secure local and state economic credits and incentives.
Westover was most recently a senior vice president with Cresa, where he led the firm’s five-state Midwest economic incentives practice, securing millions in savings on behalf of corporate and industrial/manufacturing clients. Prior to Cresa, Westover spent more than 11 years in senior-level roles with the state of Illinois Department of Commerce.
There, Westover vetted all inbound economic incentive requests and determined the appropriate awards. His recommendations led to the creation of more than 21,000 jobs, retention of more than 60,000 jobs and significant capital investment in Illinois. Prior to working for the state, Westover served as director of corporate development for Steris Corporation, where he led a team in the assessment of potential corporate acquisitions.
“Our clients increasingly need assistance in this arena,” said Jim Carris, executive managing director and market leader for Colliers | Chicago. “Bob brings Colliers decades of experience in state and local incentives across the Midwest and U.S. When combined with his strong network of contacts, we can offer our client base a unique service and unparalleled expertise.”
Westover holds a master of business administration in finance and corporate strategy from University of Michigan and a bachelor of science in business administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. An active member of the community, Westover was recently appointed to the Chicago District Golf Association’s board of directors.
