London-based energy giant BP recently announced plans to redevelop and modernize the research and development facilities on its corporate campus in Naperville, Illinois. Efficiencies generated by BP’s improvements to the Naperville location allow the company to offer approximately 85 acres of the historic campus for development opportunities.
As part of this process, CBRE has been retained by the company to list the available acreage for potential development. David Justh, David Prell and Jeff Kapcheck of CBRE will assist in the disposition and strategy development of the excess acreage and buildings.
“This is a rare opportunity for a developer or multiple developers to acquire a prime location in one of the region’s most dynamic areas,” said CBRE’s Justh. “The demographics surrounding the campus in the western suburbs are incredibly strong, with a very large residential base and a deep and talented labor pool. Creative developers will have a wide range of options as the site could support many different uses.”
Strategically located between the Naperville and Winfield Road interchanges along I-88, with over one mile of tollway frontage, the offering is the largest available development site in the entire west suburban marketplace.
