Chesterfield, Mo.-based Brinkmann Constructors is working through the first phase of a $50 million expansion of the Friendship Village Sunset Hills senior living community in Sunset Hills, Mo.

After completing 10 new independent living villas and site improvements, Friendship Village and Brinkmann are now developing 78 independent living units and additional amenities.

The just-completed independent living villas on the community’s 52-acre campus are two-bedroom units range in size from 1,200 to 1,450 square feet. They feature exterior masonry and siding, gas fireplaces, energy efficient appliances and equipment, optional walkout basements, optional three- or four-season rooms, urgent response systems, fire protection systems and secluded views of the heavily wooded site and pond.

Brinkmann has also completed site infrastructure improvements including a storm water detention, water quality features and the relocation of Pointe Drive to accommodate the master plan and associated utility relocations.

Plans also call for an underground parking garage and a new 42,200-square-foot clubhouse with a kitchen, dining room, offices and a lounge area. It will be complemented by additional amenities including a central park area with walking paths, a patio area for outdoor dining, a putting green and specialized activity space for seniors.

In addition, Brinkmann will create a new main entry from the newly relocated Pointe Drive. All components will be completed by 2017.
