The Brookshire Company has closed on a 155,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Mason City, Iowa, on 18 acres of buildable land for its client Stellar, a 100% employee-owned and operated manufacturer of mechanic trucks, cranes, tire service trucks, hooklifts, trailers and service truck and van accessories.
This strategic expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s 33-year history of growth and commitment to the north Iowa community.
The Brookshire Company led a regional site search throughout Northern Iowa with the objective of a suitable expansion facility while keeping the new site close to Stellar’s Mason City North plant. Within the search parameter, Brookshire used its exclusive Labor and Financial tools to verify the availability of qualified labor pools and determine available tax benefits and economic development rewards. Once a short list of sites that met Stellar’s needs was formed, Brookshire discovered that an adjacent property might soon be available.
This property was added to the list and, upon closer investigation, rose to the top of the list, and negotiations began to purchase the facility.
The newly purchased facility is adjacent to Stellar’s existing manufacturing facility in Mason City, located at 2421 15th Street SW, with 230,000 square feet of manufacturing space under its roof. As a company deeply rooted in north Iowa, this expansion reflects Stellar’s dedication to driving economic prosperity within the local community and its pursuit of designing and manufacturing the highest quality, most innovative equipment for the work truck industry.
With more than 800 employee-owners companywide, Stellar is excited to continue to grow job opportunities and contribute to the economic vitality of Mason City and beyond.
