A new Burlington Coat Factory will be the first tenant in the former Cub Foods store, now owned by H.J. Martin and Son, in Green Bay, Wis.

Located at 1616 West Mason St. in Green Bay, the building has been empty since Cub closed early in 2009.  H.J. Martin purchased the parcel in February of 2012.

Fifty new jobs will be created by the store’s opening, according to Burlington.

“It is a credit to everyone at H.J. Martin who helped generate the capital to make the initial investment in the former Cub Foods site,” said David Martin of H.J. Martin, in a written statement.  “The corner of Military Avenue and West Mason is a key one for the Military Avenue Business District.  Adding a destination retailer like Burlington will bring shoppers to the area, along with creating jobs and expanding the sales and real estate tax bases.”
