The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and the SIOR Foundation awarded its 2021 Len Caldeira Scholarships totaling $12,000 to four deserving students: Liliana Munoz of Harold Washington College, Anthony Strickland of Harold Washington College, Charlie Ezgur of University of Illinois, and Yamileth Moreno of Malcolm X College. Each of the students received a scholarship of $3,000 presented by SIOR Chicago 2021 Scholarship Committee members Sergio Chapa, SIOR of Newmark and Denise Chaimovitz, SIOR of Paine Wetzel.
Since 1984, the SIOR Chicago Chapter has provided approximately $200,000 in real estate scholarships to nearly 100 students. The program recognizes and rewards outstanding academic performance in business and real estate courses. In addition to education funding, recipients are also provided access to career opportunities and internship programs available within the Chicago real estate community. Professor Roger Cannaday at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign helped create the SIOR Chicago Scholarship award.
