Ivanhoé Cambridge and co-investor and developer Hines, announced that Mead Johnson, a global leader in pediatric nutrition, has signed a lease to relocate its corporate headquarters to River Point, at the corner of Lake and Canal Streets in Chicago’s West Loop area.

Mead Johnson has leased three floors, approximately 75,000 square feet of office space, in the mid-rise of River Point and will move to its new space in mid-2017. Designed to meet all the needs of a 21st-century company, the 52-story, 1.05 million square foot building will offer world-class architecture and first-class amenities, including a 1.5-acre public park and landscaped river walk, retail shops, a fitness center and extraordinary views of the Chicago River. The building has been designed to achieve LEED® Gold certification.

Arthur Lloyd, Executive Vice President, Global Investments, Ivanhoé Cambridge said, “We are very pleased to welcome Mead Johnson’s global headquarters to River Point. We know that the property’s world-class features and very attractive location will provide a truly distinctive urban working environment to meet the needs of Mead Johnson’s employees.”

“We operate in a competitive category and hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, innovation and effectiveness – and we expect nothing less of our facilities,” commented Jeff Jobe, Mead Johnson’s Senior Vice President, Technical Operations. “River Point Tower offers the right combination of quality location, infrastructure, services and amenities for the global headquarters of a fast-moving, fast-growing, high performance company like Mead Johnson.”

Hines Senior Managing Director Greg Van Schaack commented, “Creating the perfect feel of a suburban campus in an urban setting is why we believe Mead Johnson will be right at home at River Point. Our first-class amenities, which include a 1.5-acre public park, combined with the latest in technology, allow us the privilege of being a part of their strategic vision for years to come.”

Mead Johnson was represented in the transaction by Cushman & Wakefield (J. Frank Franzese, Steven C. Bauer and Aaron N. Schuster). Building ownership was represented by Hines (Greg Van Schaack, Tom D’Arcy, Jim Walsh and Laura Hines).
