Stream Realty Partners has helped the Chicago affiliate of a national mentoring organization find a new home that meets its future needs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago will occupy 8,587 square feet on the second floor at 130 S. Jefferson St. in Chicago. The new space will accommodate the nonprofit’s hybrid work model and allow the agency to hold programs, board meetings and community and match events.
Stream Managing Director Phil Geiger led negotiations for the tenant. Stream, a national commercial real estate firm offering an integrated platform of services, operates one of its 15 core offices in Chicago. Madison Rose represented the landlord, R2 Companies, in the transaction.
The Chicago branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters offers high-quality, one-on-one mentoring services to 2,000 children and their families in Cook, DuPage, and Lake counties in Illinois and Indiana. Its new creative loft-office space features 16-foot ceilings and large windows overlooking Jefferson Street, providing natural light and cityscape views in Chicago’s West Loop. The property’s recently renovated lobby will welcome the nonprofit’s more than 65 staff members who work to recruit, match, and support mentors, mentees, and families across Chicagoland.
The five-story 130 S. Jefferson St. location is a heavy timber building, constructed in 1883, that sits in the West Loop neighborhood and offers easy access to Interstates 90 and 94 as well as CTA train lines from Union Station and the Ogilvie Transportation Center. A host of restaurants, along with Greek Town, Randolph Street and Fulton Market, are nearby.
