Each holiday season — and all through the year, really — commercial real estate companies across the Midwest donate their time and money to support charities.
This year is no exception. A good example? The work that the Colliers International offices in Ohio are doing to support members of the U.S. Military.
As part of their “Building Up Communities” quarterly volunteer project, members of Colliers International’s Ohio offices shipped more than 170 gift boxes to troops serving overseas. The boxes included more than 30 items from toiletries to candy, snacks and books.
The items came from donations from Colliers offices in Ohio.
“Our ability to come together as a team for a great cause is truly admirable, and I’m honored to take part in such a wonderful event,” said James Garrett, Jr., chief operating officer of Colliers International in Ohio, in a written statement. “Any small gift that we can provide to our troops serving overseas is the least that we can do this holiday season.”
The gift boxes were shipped to troops serving in Afghanistan and the Middle East. Volunteers from the Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton offices shopped for gifts, packed boxes, donated funds and wrote letters to troops as part of the volunteer project. In addition, several local schools helped to write holiday letters and draw pictures to include in the gift boxes.
