Confluent Development expands operations to Chicago

Confluent Development announced the addition of Randy Coakley as the firm’s new Chicago-based vice president of real estate.

The hiring of Coakley represents the firm’s expanded presence into the Chicago and Midwest markets.

As vice president of real estate, Coakley will office out of Chicago and is responsible for Confluent Development’s retail-focused development strategy, leading the company’s team and growth in this sector.

With more than 20 years of development and construction experience, Coakley’s industry success with single-tenant net lease properties led to the delivery of more than 60 Walgreens properties and five Chase Bank properties, all within the Midwest and southeastern United States.

Prior to joining Confluent Development, Coakley served as president of Eyes North Corporation in Chicago, with a $100 million portfolio of single-tenant retail developments throughout the Midwest. He earned master’s degrees in civil engineering and architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is an Illinois-licensed real estate broker.

Coakley’s industry expertise is a valuable asset to Confluent Development’s retail development portfolio of $25 million annually. As an industry leader, Coakley’s experience allows the firm to expand its programmatic relationships that are currently focused primarily in the Rocky Mountain region – with clientele that includes Starbucks, 7-Eleven, Verizon, Chipotle, Walmart, Dollar General and Taco Bueno – in addition to the development of new key relationships.
