Cushman & Wakefield secured a lease extension and expansion for Crowe LLP’s Chicago office at 225 W. Wacker Drive. Once the expansion is completed, Crowe will occupy approximately 51,000 square feet overlooking the newly developed Riverwalk along the bend of the Chicago River.

Cushman & Wakefield executive managing director Scott Goldman and senior director Josh Feldman represented Crowe in the transaction. Crowe is a public accounting, consulting, and technology firm with offices around the world.

“Crowe has a 75-year legacy globally, with a significant Chicago presence, and they needed a solution to accommodate the firm’s growth and market brand,” said Feldman. “After a thorough analysis of options, this was a logical direction for the firm.”

Crowe has been a subtenant at 225 West Wacker for the past four years, occupying nearly 37,000 square feet over one and one-half floors. The long-term lease enables Crowe to accommodate robust growth and expand by another 13,000 square feet, bringing its total office space to two full floors and more than 51,000 square feet.

The new floorplan includes an option to renovate both floors, with an open-plan design creating neighborhoods and a variety of work spaces to accommodate all work styles and needs. The modern layout is more conducive to collaboration and consistent with Crowe’s space and people strategies.

“We are excited about staying at 225 West Wacker because it’s a great location, our people love the energy in the area, the proximity to some of downtown Chicago’s best venues, and the ease of traveling to and working in the office,” said Melinda Haag, director, Crowe global services. “We wanted a solution to support Crowe’s growth and space strategies.”
