Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois, Inc. has completed a 40,000-square-foot lease at 200 South Wacker Drive. The 10-year lease has C&W occupying the entire 28th floor and most of the 27th floor, with options to expand into adjacent space.
“We couldn’t be more excited about moving to 200 South Wacker,” said Shawn Mobley, C&W’s Executive Vice President and Market Leader for Chicago, in a release. “We love the building, and the ownership and management have been tremendous to work with. This is a great opportunity to further the growth of our office begun earlier this year.”
200 South Wacker Drive is a 754,751-square-foot, 40-story building located on the east bank of the Chicago River, at the southwest corner of Wacker Drive and Adams Street in the West Loop (see picture attached). The building was purchased in June 2011 by a consortium of owners consisting of Sam Zell’s Equity Group Investments, Pearlmark Real Estate Partners and Behringer Harvard.
C&W’s Chicago office is currently located at NBC Tower. During the past year, the firm has added more than 30 brokers bringing their employee total to approximately 110 individuals, which has effectively maxed out the current space. The firm is set to relocate in early- to mid-December 2011 to 200 South Wacker Drive, where they will have space to accommodate up to 170 employees.
