DCT Industrial held a groundbreaking event in November for the demolition of the existing structure at 2200 Arthur Avenue in Elk Grove Village. DCT purchased the property in Q3 2014 and is constructing a new 112,000 square foot speculative facility.
Among the attendees were Elk Grove Village’s Trustee James Petri, Trustee Sam Lissner, Village Manager Raymond Rummel, Village Clerk Judy Keegan, Fire Chief Rich Mikel, Deputy Village Manager Matthew Roan and Director of Business Development Josh Grodzin. Also in attendance were representatives from Morgan Harbour Construction, Kimley Horn & Associates, Harris Architects, CBRE and Johler Demolition.
“DCT O’Hare Logistics Center is an exciting development for us,” said Brian Roach, Regional VP and Chicago Market Leader of DCT Industrial. “The location, the design and the timing should bode well for a successful investment in what is a critical focus sub-market for DCT”.
Situated on 6.9 acres, the new cross docked facility is located between Route 83 and Elmhurst Road and minutes from O’Hare International Airport, an advantageous location for a variety of end users seeking proximity to the metro area, skilled labor and air freight access.
The new 32′ clear height facility will have 38 exterior dock positions and 40 dedicated trailer stalls in a fully secured truck court. Delivery is slated for summer, 2015.
Kevin Segerson, Matt Mulvihill and Cal Payne of CBRE will represent DCT Industrial in the leasing of the speculative facility.
