Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) announced that Elise Couston, SIOR, and senior managing director in the firm’s Chicago office, was awarded the 2014 Largest Land Transaction with a Platinum Sponsor award from The Chicago Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). The prestigious award was given during an annual awards presentation, held at the Chapter’s February luncheon in Des Plaines.
Ms. Couston, 2014 SIOR Chicago Chapter President, received the award for her representation of long-time client, Liberty Property Trust, in the sale of 52 acres in Minooka, Illinois to W.W. Grainger. Neal Driscoll, vice president of leasing and development at Liberty Property Trust, also accepted this award on behalf of Liberty Property Trust. The property, located adjacent to W.W. Grainger’s current distribution center at 106 Ridge Road, offers immediate access to I-80. W.W. Grainger purchased the additional 52 acres with plans to build a second distribution center.
“I am honored to have received this award,” said Ms. Couston. “It’s so gratifying to come off the SIOR Chicago Presidency last year and complete an assignment with support of a world-class and loyal client like Liberty Property Trust. The award is the icing on the cake.”
Ms. Couston has 32 years of experience in industrial and commercial sales, leasing, business park development and build-to-suit projects, as well as marketing expertise. Often recognized for her career achievements, Ms. Couston was most recently named amongst Bisnow’s 2014 Top 50 Power Women in Chicago. She has also been inducted into Midwest Real Estate News’ Hall of Fame and received the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors’ (SIOR) Largest Industrial Transaction Award nationally and locally.
Ms. Couston recently finished her term as the 2014 SIOR Chicago Chapter President, is a past president of AIRE, and is a member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Executive Women). She writes the Industrial Insider column for Chicago Industrial Properties.
