EN Engineering has signed a lease for 84,399 rentable square feet at Cantera Meadows, a 203,842-square-foot newly renovated office tower located at 28100 Torch Parkway in Warrenville. The engineering consulting firm, currently based in Woodridge, is expected to relocate its headquarters to Cantera in January 2013.
J.F. McKinney’s Dru Shoemaker represented the building’s owner, CMJ/Cantera LLC, a joint venture partnership between M & J Wilkow Ltd. and CarVal Investors. Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s Mike Fortuna and Brett Ratay represented the tenant.
EN Engineering will occupy the lower portion of the building, officially opening the property. There is 100,000 rentable square feet of furnished space available on the upper floors.
The ownership team of M & J Wilkow Ltd. and CarVal Investors acquired the two-building Cantera Meadows I and III campus, formerly owned by BP North America, in 2010 and completed renovations in late 2011. The Cantera III building (167,215 square feet) was sold in 2011 to R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company for its worldwide headquarters; J.F. McKinney represented the joint venture in the sale. The redevelopment of Cantera Meadows (formerly called Cantera I ) included significant lobby renovations, new elevator cab interiors, improved building exterior and redesigned entryways, as well as new landscaping. Tenant amenities include an expansive cafeteria, ample corporate conferencing and a new fitness center. The building is convenient to the many restaurants and shops at the nearby Cantera retail development.
