Electric Research and Manufacturing Cooperative, Inc. (ERMCO), a U.S. manufacturer of transformers and power solutions, acquired a 158,000-square-foot facility at Bristol Business Park in Bristol, Wisconsin.

This strategic expansion strengthens ERMCO’s position as a trusted partner to utilities and renewable energy providers, while reinforcing its commitment to domestic manufacturing, innovation, and grid resilience.

ERMCO began leasing the facility in May 2024 to prepare for operational readiness and officially commenced operations in April 2025. The site, located in Building 4 of the state-of-the-art Bristol Business Park, features 32-foot clear heights, 30 expandable dock doors, 215 parking spaces, and 4,000 amps of power. Its location near Interstate 94 and the Illinois-Wisconsin border provides critical access to the greater Midwest and national markets.

ERMCO plays a vital role in the nation’s energy infrastructure, offering reliable and forward-looking solutions that support the transition to a more electrified economy. As utilities across the country modernize, electrical grids are advancing to meet rising energy demands and integrate renewable sources. ERMCO’s products ensure long-term reliability, performance, and cost efficiency for communities across North America.

As an industry leader in Amorphous core technology, ERMCO continues to invest in advanced manufacturing to support the evolving needs of the energy sector. The Bristol facility will serve as ERMCO’s dedicated Amorphous hub, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering high-efficiency transformer solutions that support grid modernization and long-term reliability. With two domestic sources of electrical steel (amorphous and grain-oriented), ERMCO is well-positioned to ensure supply chain stability and meet growing demand. These capabilities place ERMCO ahead of the curve in aligning with the U.S. Department of Energy’s 2029 efficiency standards – helping customers prepare for a more sustainable and resilient energy future.

With a deep understanding of regulatory impacts and supply chain dynamics, ERMCO continues to lead through innovation and resiliency advancing its goal to deliver high-quality, domestically manufactured products that support energy security and sustainability.

This acquisition reflects ERMCO’s strategic focus on strengthening key partnerships and reinforcing its commitment to powering a resilient energy future. By investing in advanced manufacturing and supply chain resilience, ERMCO continues to position itself as the industry’s Most Valued Partner.
The transaction was facilitated by Cushman & Wakefield, with Sean Kropke and Keith Puritz representing ERMCO.
