Former Colliers power duo reunite, bring suburban office expertise to Cushman & Wakefield

The former Colliers Chicago suburban office team of Kevin Clifton and Chris Cummins are working as partners again, only this time, the duo is teaming up at Cushman & Wakefield.

Clifton, the firm’s new executive director, comes from CBRE where he was formally executive vice president. He will be focusing on the leasing and sale of significant office properties, working on behalf of his clients to maximize the value of office properties that have substantial vacancy or major leases expiring.

The additions of Clifton and Cummins mark a major step for the firm as they continue to build and grow its suburban office practice, according to Shawn Mobley, Cushman & Wakefield’s East Region president and Chicago market lead.

The news comes not long after the firm’s announcement earlier this week of the new hiring of Sean Kropke, and the announcement of Jonathan Metzl just earlier this year.

“Kevin and Chris – coming back together as a team – is a major win for our clients,” Mobley said. “It adds to our overall strong momentum in agency leasing in Chicago, which has really accelerated since Jack McKinney and his team joined us in 2015.”

Clifton has completed office transactions totaling in excess of 20 million square feet over the course of his 30-year career. Those include some of the largest real estate projects in the Chicago suburban market. Clifton was among the highest producers of CBRE’s professionals and is recognized as an office industry expert. He has been the recipient of numerous industry awards including the NAIOP Office Transaction of the Year, SIOR Office Transaction of the Year, and Chicago Office Broker of the Year.

Cummins specializes in working with both tenants and landlords to establish and implement strategic real estate processes. He focuses primarily in the North suburban Chicago office market.

Throughout his 18-year career, he has been involved in more than 10 million square feet of leases and has earned several top awards and recognitions in the industry. He was the recipient of the 2007 and 2015 NAIOP Suburban Office Transaction of the Year. In 2015, Cummins was recognized as the Top Producer in the Suburban Office Group at Colliers.
