Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Ridge Trail Capital appointed Jim Tassoni as Managing Director of the firm. The announcement of the addition of Tassoni was made by Matt Uhl, Founder and Managing Partner of the firm he launched earlier this year.

Tassoni brings more than 23 years of experience in finance, investing, and business ownership to Ridge Trail and is driven to support lower middle‑market business owners through every lifecycle—growth, transition, and exit. Over more than two decades, he has owned, operated, consulted to, and exited multiple businesses, giving him a rare combination of transaction expertise and hands‑on operating experience.

Like Ridge Trail Capital itself, Tassoni takes an industry-agnostic approach and supports a range of companies, including manufacturers, financial services and accounting firms, property managers, and e-commerce businesses among other sectors. Ridge Trail Capital’s focus is the lower middle market: companies generating approximately $5 million to $50 million in revenue and $1 million to $10+ million in EBITDA.

Tassoni has spent his career focused on the intersection of finance, investing, operations and business acquisition. Having completed four successful acquisitions and full‑cycle exits of his own, he brings a real‑world M&A perspective that many advisors lack. He works with owners not only on the transaction itself, but on the critical years between acquisition and exit, where long‑term value is created.

Tassoni is a graduate of Michigan State University.
