Greater Chicago Food Depository names 2020 Chicago CRE Awards winners

The redevelopment of the Old Post Office in Chicago led to multiple awards this year.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository recently held its 32nd Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the 2020 edition of the annual event was the first ever virtual awards ceremony.

The awards recognize the outstanding achievements of Chicago’s top architects, brokers, developers, property managers, interior contractors and design professionals. The awards also serve as a fundraiser, last year raising more than $1.5 million to help provide more than 4.5 million meals for Chicago-area residents facing hunger.

The 2020 award winners included:

Architect of the Year—Gensler

Build to Suit of the Year—Columbia College Chicago Student Center (Columbia College, Pepper Construction, Gensler, DRI, Rockey Structures)

Consulting Engineer of the Year—ESD

Deal of the Year—Uber at The Old Post Office (601 W Cos., Uber, CBRE, The Telos Group)

Developer of the Year—601 W Cos.

Development of the Year—One Bennett Park (Related Midwest)

Downtown Office Redevelopment of the Year—The Old Post Office (601 W Cos., The Telos Group, Gensler, JLL, Bear Construction)

Industrial Broker of the Year—Larry Goldwasser, Colin Green, Matt Cowie, Michelle Maguire & John Marks (Cushman & Wakefield)

Interior Contractor of the Year—Pepper Construction

Interior Design Firm of the Year—Whitney Architects

Investment Broker of the Year—Jeffrey Bramson, Jaime Fink, Bruce Miller, Patrick Shields, Sam DiFrancesca & Nooshin Felsenthal (JLL)

Office Broker of the Year—John Goodman & Eric Feinberg (Savills)

Office Property Representative of the Year—Steve Smith, Jamey Dix & Daniel Heckman (The Telos Group)

Project Manager of the Year—JLL Project and Development Services

Property Management Company of the Year—JLL

Redevelopment of the Year—Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago (Pepper Construction, CBRE, SCB, Perkins+Will)

Retail Broker of the Year—Todd Siegel, Phil Golding & Kim Wiskup (CBRE)

Special Achievement of the Year—
