Habitat Company vice president named president of Chicagoland Apartment Association BOD

Gina Fortune-Harmon, vice president of market rate management for The Habitat Company LLC,  has been named president of the Chicagoland Apartment Association’s Board of Directors.

The association represents thousands of apartment industry professionals, including owners and managers of buildings ranging from two-flats to the largest high rise apartments.

In her full-time role as The Habitat Company LLC’s Vice President of Market Rate Management, Fortune-Harmon is responsible for financials and operations for the market rate portfolio across four states. Prior to joining Habitat, she held several key leadership roles at Lincoln Property Group, The Ackerberg Group, Group One Investments and Riverstone Residential Group.

Fortune-Harmon has deep experience in all property types including construction, lease-up, financially and physically stressed assets, acquisitions, renovations and repositions. Her roots are in property management. She has been active in the multifamily industry since 1984, working with both private and national organizations.

A licensed managing broker in the state of Illinois and Minnesota, Fortune-Harmon holds both the CPM® Certified Property Manager and ARM® Accredited Residential Manager designations with the Institute of Real Estate Management, and she attended William Rainey Harper College. She has been an active member of the Chicagoland Apartment Association since 2007 and has served on the Board of Director since 2017, taking on leadership roles as First Vice President (2022/23); and Treasurer (2020/21).
