Habitat Company’s Sheila Byrne named president of ABOMA Illinois

Sheila Byrne, executive vice president of property management at The Habitat Company has been named president of the Apartment Building Owners and Managers Association (ABOMA) of Illinois. Byrne served as ABOMA’s vice president for the past two years.

ABOMA is dedicated to serving and representing the needs of the residential high-rise real estate industry. The purpose of the organization is to promote the welfare and interest of its members, including facilitating the exchange of ideas regarding management, operations and maintenance of high-rise residential buildings; engaging in collective bargaining agreements as a designated representative and to consider and act regarding legislation and other public matters related to the industry.

Byrne joined The Habitat Company in 1986 and now oversees management operations for more than 25,000 units spanning six states that include market rate, condominium, Habitat Affordable Group and 390,000 square feet of commercial space. She also serves on the board of managers for The Habitat Company. Byrne holds a bachelor of arts from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota and is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois.
