HDA Architects was selected by the St. Louis Jewish Community Center to complete a comprehensive renovation of its Marilyn Fox Building in Chesterfield, Missouri.
The renovations will result in the addition of a new Adult Day Center, new locker rooms, new lobby and gathering space. The gymnasium, fitness center and Early Childhood Center, along with the building’s exterior, will also be revamped.
Expanded kitchen facilities, dedicated pickleball courts and infrastructure upgrades like security and communications systems are included in the long list of improvements. The existing entryway will be enhanced with a new metal wall panel system to welcome members and guests alike to the reimagined facility. Originally constructed in 1996, the building has previously undergone only a minor renovation in 2008.
The transformation of the 87,930-square-foot building at 16801 Baxter Road, aligns with the organization’s focus on serving greater community needs and delivering more impact going forward. In particular, the new Adult Day Center – with a capacity for 36 participants – will be a significant element that addresses a much-needed community service.
The facility will be available to members throughout the renovation process and progress in phases to minimize disruption to users. Construction will begin mid-April and is scheduled to be completed during Q4 of 2025. ISC Contracting is serving as the General Contractor.
Additional project partners include Avison Young (Owner’s Rep), ODA studio (Interior Design), KPFF Consulting Engineers (Structural Engineer), Engenuity (MEP/FP Engineer), Stock & Associates Consulting Engineers (Civil Engineer), and Landscape Technologies (Landscape Architecture).
