A new Hilton Garden Inn will soon be opening in downtown Flint, Michigan. The hotel is occupying the former Genesee County Savings Bank building at 110 W. Kearsley St.
The 11-story building was Flint’s second skyscraper when it opened in 1920. The building will now be transformed into a 101-room Hilton Garden Inn with a full-service restaurant, meeting and banquet center and rooftop deck.
Crescent Hotels and Resorts is managing the hotel. Flint-based firms DW Lurvey Co. and Sorenson Gross are jointly managing construction. Detrot’s Kramer Design Group is serving as the architect, interior designer and historic consultant.
Financing is provided by Uptown Reinvestment Corp., the project’s developer; Michigan Economic Development Corp.; Charles Stewart Mott Foundation; Skypoint Ventures; and Local Initiatives Support Corp. Huntington Bank and Old National Bank are also providing financing.
