Bloomington, Indiana-based Hoosier Energy will offer complimentary OSHA safety training to employees at each of its 18 member co-ops this May. Members of the public are also invited to participate but will be charged a fee for the training.
The OSHA 30-hour General Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in general industry. Although OSHA 30 safety training is geared toward foremen and job supervisors, anyone working in the healthcare, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution and retail industries may participate.
The four-day course covers a variety of topics including introduction to OSHA, managing safey and health, fall protection, emergency action plans, electrical safety and personal protective equipment.
Hoosier Energy trainers are authorized to teach 30-hour general industry sessions. These trainers meet the requirements for participants to receive student course completion cards upon successful completion of the training session.
