St. Louis-based general contracting firm Integrate Construction Partners has started construction on a pair of additions to Fort Zumwalt North High School in O’Fallon, Missouri.
Phase II renovations at the school are expected to begin this summer.
Located at 1230 Tom Ginnever Ave., Phase 1 includes a 2,500-square-foot addition to the school’s existing cafeteria for additional seating (approx. 150 seats), and a 15,500-square-foot addition in front of the school’s existing entrance and library that will include a storm shelter/multipurpose room, entry lobby, and an outdoor courtyard.
The storm shelter is designed with 14” thick precast concrete wall panels and a roof made of precast concrete double tee panels with a 4” concrete topping slab. The additions are expected to be completed in December 2024.
Phase II, which will be performed during the summer when students are on break, includes renovation of the existing cafeteria, library and administration rooms with new flooring, paint and ceiling tiles. The architect on both phases is Cordogan Clark & Associates.
The projects are funded by voter approval of FZ Prop 4 in 2022 – a $125 million no-tax increase bond issue to address facility needs regarding health, safety, growth and opportunity for students and staff. Fort Zumwalt North High School was constructed in 1976 and has approx. 1,535 students.
