Nominations are being sought for the Annual Women in Commercial Real Estate Awards program being hosted by Illinois Real Estate Journal and CREW Chicago on September 8, 2011 at the University Club of Chicago.

The deadline for nominations, originally July 31, 2011, has been extended to August 15, 2011.

This marks the fourth year for the award program which seeks to celebrate the role women play in the commercial real estate industry in Chicago. As part of the program awards will be presented in five separate categories:

  • Bright Horizon—for a newcomer to the industry.
  • Community Service—for making the world a better place.
  • Crystal Apple—for an inspiring mentor/teacher.
  • Career Achievement—for the entire body of work.
  • Impact—for lights out success the last 12 months.

“There are many different awards programs commemorating excellence in commercial real estate in Chicago,” said Michael Millar of Real Estate Communications Group, one of the organizers of the program. “Yet there are so few, if any, that specifically have acknowledged the role of women in real estate in Chicago.”

With that void, CREW Chicago, Illinois Real Estate Journal and Real Estate Communications group set out in 2007 to establish the program that now is in its fourth year. This year’s event will be held at the University Club of Chicago on September 8. The luncheon program features a keynote address by an influential and inspirational member of the Chicago real estate community and the presentation of awards.
