The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) advisory board—run by IREM member volunteers—has named Angela Aeschliman, senior vice president of property and asset management at Des Plaines, IL-based The Missner Group, as chair for 2018.
Aeschliman has 25 years in the commercial real estate industry spanning residential, retail, office, LEED adaptive reuse and industrial management. She is a Certified Property Manager, a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a LEED Accredited Professional and a licensed real estate broker. She is active in numerous professional associations including IREM, CCIM, National Association of Realtors, Northern Illinois Association of Realtors (NICAR) and the U.S. Green Building Council. Aeschliman is the immediate past president of the IREM Chicago Chapter #23, as well as a past president of NICAR and she currently resides in Naperville, IL.
Aeschliman will be responsible for helping the sustainability advisory board identify strategies for increasing IREM’s Certified Sustainable Property (CSP) certifications, review and advise on CSP applications, requirements and submission processes and review and identify potential sustainability-related topics for knowledge products.
IREM’s CSP certification is an attainable, affordable and meaningful recognition program for existing office properties, multifamily communities and shopping centers. The certification allows property managers to gain recognition for properties not covered by other programs, extend sustainability across their portfolio or start a sustainability initiative from scratch.
