J.C. Anderson has completed a build-out to DePaul University’s lower-level concourse located at 333 S. State St. in Chicago.
J.C. Anderson gutted a significant portion of the existing Barnes & Noble space to create the DePaul Student Center for Emerging Technology, a high tech space for students to showcase artwork and special projects. The Center space features a massive digital wall, creative areas, as well as offices. There are many specialty design elements including specialty storefront and meeting room glazing, acoustic baffles and zintra panels on hanging ceilings, specialty custom lighting packages and controls and high-tech audio/visual features.
The biggest challenge on this project was material and trade coordination. With so many material delays and trades due to the supply chain issues, managing schedule and sequencing was challenging throughout the project.
The construction team for J.C. Anderson was led by VP Joe Maguire, Senior Project Manager Larry Regovic and Superintendent Ryan Kingsmill. Vasilko Architects & Associates, Inc. provided the architectural services.
