Kansas City’s McCownGordon expands staff

Kansas City-based McCownGordon Construction named Nancy Whitworth as chief people officer and has expanded its leadership Team by adding Steve Levy as senior vice president of construction operations.

Whitworth brings more than 25 years of human resources experience, 11 with McCownGordon, to her new role. Levy, who relocated to Kansas City from Dallas, has more than 35 years of construction operations experience across both field operations and project management.

As chief people officer, Whitworth will continue to foster an environment that encourages talent and cultivates leadership skills while fostering associate engagement. With more than a decade of experience at McCownGordon, Whitworth understands the company, culture and people, making her ideally suited to serve in her new role. Prior to McCownGordon, she held human resources roles with various companies including Transamerica, and YRC Freight.

Levy brings additional senior-level operational depth to the team with significant expertise in scaling for ongoing growth. Levy cited McCownGordon’s culture as a chief reason he opted to join the firm.

Originally from Jamaica where he started his career in construction, Levy graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering. Most recently he worked at Cadence McShane in Dallas and previously spent more than 25 years with Charter Builders/Balfour Beatty Construction.
