Kohler Co. announced plans to expand its Kohler Waters Spa offering with a second location in the Chicago area at Lincoln Common—a new crossroads development in Lincoln Park. It will be part of McCaffery Interests’ six-acre development enhancing the already vibrant neighborhood.
Kohler Waters Spa Lincoln Park will be located at 2358 N. Lincoln Avenue, one of the several restored and revitalized structures in Lincoln Common. The spa will have on-site parking for 21 treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor relax areas, a manicure and pedicure finishing salon, a hair salon and a hydromassage pool in a thermal suite. Kohler’s first Chicago day spa is located in the suburb of Burr Ridge about 20 miles southwest of the Loop.
Lincoln Common is a mixed-use development transforming the former site of Children’s Memorial Hospital into a new gateway to the Lincoln Park neighborhood with a diversity of housing options, shops, restaurants, beautiful new parks, underground loading and increased pedestrian access. New buildings will be mixed with restored and revitalized structures to integrate into the existing neighborhood fabric.
The transit-oriented project will have ready access to the Fullerton train stop (red/brown/purple CTA lines), buses and bike lanes, and will provide bike storage and bike/car ride share programs. The new buildings are targeting LEED-NC silver certification and will include 50 percent green roofs. In total, there will be 100,000 square feet of retail, 538 apartment units, 40 luxury condominiums, a 5-story boutique office building, an 850 stall parking garage, a 156-room senior living facility and over an acre of open space once complete.
