Kraus-Anderson completed a $23.45 million remodel and addition at Highland Park Middle School located at 975 Snelling Ave. South in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Designed by ATS&R Planners, Architects & Engineers, 168,968-square-foot project added a 2-story, 15,000-square-foot link between the middle and high school, and a new 5,200-square-foot administration area.
The project also remodeled the 19,900-square-foot special education area and 10,500-square-foot cafeteria; replaced the 7,400-square-foot gym floor; and converted the former 5,800-square-foot administration area into new classrooms and collaboration spaces.
Funding for this project was through a combination of bonds, including Long Term Facility Maintenance and Capital Levy Authority bonds. As with all major capital improvement projects at Saint Paul Public Schools, funding is separate from day-to-day operational funding that pays for teachers and other educational services.
Construction began in June of 2024.
