Mark Dent Vice President and General Manager Turner Construction Company Cleveland
What impact has Mark Dent had on the Cleveland office of Turner Construction Company? A look at the numbers tells the tale.
Since Dent became general manager of the Cleveland office in 2008, it has grown from 45 to 120 employees. During the same period, construction volume for this office’s special projects division grew from $10 million to $45 million.
Dent is responsible for much of this success. Throughout his real estate career, one that’s lasted for more than 26 years, Dent has displayed the leadership and motivational skills needed to lead an office through both good and bad markets. Dent has also taken the time to share his market knowledge with and mentor the younger professionals at Turner’s Cleveland office. This has helped create an office staffed with some of the top construction experts in the Cleveland market.
During his time at Turner, Dent has been involved with some of the highest-profile projects in the Cleveland area. This includes the Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention Center, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and several projects at the Cleveland Clinic.
Dent has worked on such important Cleveland projects as the PlayhouseSquare Theatre restoration and the KeyBank Tower. Outside of Cleveland, Dent played an important role in making the former Owens Illinois World Headquarters and Hunting Center realities in Toledo.
Dent’s accomplishments haven’t gone unnoticed. Officials from Bowling Green State University have honored Dent as a distinguished alumnus because of his career achievements.
Dent has made an impact outside of his profession, too. He sits on the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America and is a board member of the Construction Employers Association. He is also a member of the Associated General Contractors of America and the Cleveland Engineering Society..
