MB Real Estate has completed a 76,200-square-foot new lease for the Government Services Administration at 525 W. Van Buren in Chicago.
Sara Spicklemire, vice president of leasing for MB Real Estate and leasing agent for the 16-story West Loop high-rise, represented building ownership in lease negotiations. The GSA leased the space for the offices of the Secret Service, which will occupy partial space on the 7th floor and the entirety of the 8th and 9th floors. After analyzing other options within the market, the GSA chose to sign a new lease for its existing space due to the Secret Services’ desire to remain at this location. The GSA was self-represented in the lease transaction.
“525 W. Van Buren offers column-free, 34,000-square-foot floor plates with great views,” Spicklemire said. “As a result, the space not only lends itself to efficient layouts, but also brings an abundance of natural light to the environment.”
