MB Real Estate is pleased to be participating in “Teal Lights” awareness and celebration campaign for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) and Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Between August 25 and September 27, 2014, 181 W. Madison will use teal lighting to promote the NOCC’s mission of spreading ovarian cancer education and awareness.
The mission of the NOCC is to raise awareness and promote education about ovarian cancer, and to improve the survival rate and quality of life for women with ovarian cancer. In women ages 35-74, ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related deaths. More than 20,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with ovarian cancer each year, and approximately 15,000 women die annually from the disease. Unfortunately, most cases are diagnosed in their later stages when the prognosis is poor. However, if diagnosed and treated early, the five-year survival rate is over 90 percent making it imperative that early signs and symptoms are recognized.
